[Week 35 Baby] Getting plumper and stronger! Im as big as a pumpkin!

Your baby is growing: has a bigger body, softer skin, more strength in the grip, and greater sensitivity to light. And the hormones are at work, producing enough thyroxine, which regulates the thyroid, near the level of adults.

After week 35, babies do not have to stay in NICU even if they are born preterm. In other words, they have been working hard to prepare themselves.

The skull surrounding the brain is still very tender, allowing the baby to move through the birth canal. The posterior fontanelle, a small gap located below the back of the head, closes up 6 to 7 weeks after birth. The anterior fontanelle, the larger gap located at the top of the head, closes around 18 months old.
