Pregnancy Weekly Guide

[Week 26 Mother] Welcome to the world of insomnia!

The more uncomfortable you feel, the harder it is to fall asleep and stay asleep. Whether it's due to hormonal changes causing indigestion, frequent urination during sleep, or difficulty getting into a comfortable position due to a full stomach, insomnia is common.

In late pregnancy, a large belly can also decrease diaphragmatic function, leading to decreased lung capacity, oxygenation, and blood pressure, all of which can lead to sleep disturbances.

Getting a good night's rest is important for both you and your baby, as disrupted sleep can negatively affect you and your baby.

To help you get a good night's sleep, avoid drinking fluids and take a walk in the sun before bed.
