Pregnancy Weekly Guide

[Week 6 Baby] The fetal heart begins to go thump, thump!

Once you see the gestational sac on ultrasound, you should be able to see a very tiny baby the following week. Babies grow very fast at this point, and the brain develops most notably.

Babies' heart beats faster than adults. If the heart is beating, be assured that means the baby is doing well.

The visible tissues bulging from the head develop into the baby's chin and cheeks, starting form a lovely face. The hollow areas on the sides may look like dimples, but they are actually where the ears will be. The little dots on the face will become the eyes and nose. Organs such as the kidney, liver, and lungs are formed, and the heart beats about 110 times per minute.
