The due date is just that, a scheduled date, an estimated day. Don't assume that you must give birth on that day. Most babies are born between 37 and 42 weeks, and for first-time mothers, it's common for the birth to be later than the due date.
Until the next menstrual period arrives, a mother may not fully realize she has become a mother. However, when the fertilized egg implants in the uterine lining, changes also occur in the mother's body.
