Frozen Embryo Transfer Step 2 – You’ve Started Ovulation Induction!
If ovulation induction is used for a frozen embryo transfer, oral medications such as clomiphene or letrozole (Femara) may be prescribed to induce ovulation.Unlike a fresh IVF cycle, the goal is not to develop multiple eggs for retrieval. Instead, the aim is to induce ovulation and prepare the uterine lining for embryo implantation, so multiple follicles are generally not needed.Injectable medications may also be used when necessary. After taking oral or injectable medications, you will visit the clinic regularly to monitor follicle growth and estimate the timing of ovulation. The embryo transfer date will then be scheduled accordingly.
