Frozen Embryo Transfer Step 1 – You’re Planning a Frozen Embryo Transfer!
You’re starting a frozen embryo transfer (FET), in which embryos that were frozen during a previous IVF cycle are thawed and transferred into the uterus.Because the embryos have already been created, there is no need to go through another egg retrieval before the transfer.Depending on your treatment plan, medications may be used to prepare the uterine lining or manage ovulation. Since ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval are generally not required, the process may be simpler than a fresh embryo transfer cycle.If you have a natural-cycle FET without medication to control the cycle, you will visit the clinic regularly to monitor follicle growth and estimate ovulation. The embryo transfer date will then be scheduled accordingly.
