IVF Step 5 – Your Embryo Transfer Is Complete
A well-developed embryo is gently placed into the uterus using a thin, flexible catheter. The transfer is usually performed 2–6 days after egg retrieval.You do not need to fast on the day of the embryo transfer. The procedure is usually performed under abdominal ultrasound guidance.The embryo is placed into the uterus through a thin catheter, and anesthesia is generally not required.After the procedure, you may be asked to rest for a short while before going home. You can usually return to your normal daily activities the same day, but it is best to avoid strenuous exercise or other physically demanding activities.
